Likewise, the route passing via Jomsom follows the sacred Kali Gandaki River which forms the world’s deepest canyon. The river is considered sacred due to the presence of the holy stone ‘Saligram’. Hindu mythology regards this particular stone as the Hindu god “Vishnu”. Hindus regard the god Vishnu as the guardian of the universe. The Kali Gandaki river flows in the summertime however in the cold winter, the river stays frozen. Trip from Kathmandu to Jomsom 

There are three ways you can plan your trip to Jomsom, by flight, by road, and on foot.

1.By flight:

By plane, as mentioned above it will take you around 20 minutes to arrive at Pokhara airport. Flight is the most convenient, easy, and brief way to travel to Jomsom. In addition, flying to Jomsom from Pokhara is a beautiful adventure as you can view majestic mountains during the flight. Besides, you can expect flight delays or flight cancelations due to weather conditions and the strong wind.  

2.By road:

You can choose to travel to Jomsom by road as another option. It takes around 9 hours to travel to Jomsom by road. The distance between Pokhara and Jomsom is 155 kilometers. In case of any trouble with your flight like flight cancelation, you can choose the by road option. Flight cancelation and delays often occur with flights to Jomsom as it’s a windy place. Afternoon, the place gets so windy that most of the flights get canceled. Therefore, booking your flight in the morning is the best thing you can do to avoid such weather issues
